New State Abuse Registry Monitoring
Passport has a new monitoring product! The State Abuse Registry monitoring service is a compiled dataset that has Abuse Registries for 25 states and territories and 10 Imposter Lists. The list is a compilation of Nurse Aide Registries, Nursing Imposter lists, Adult Abuse Lists, and Misconduct Registries. We collect all abuse registries that are available and downloadable.
The purpose of Abuse Registries is to list persons who have abused, neglected, exploited, or misappropriated the property of vulnerable persons. Many states have laws stating that no employee or volunteer whose name is listed on these registries may work with vulnerable persons. This information is pertinent to keeping your patients and your pocketbook safe.
The importance of the imposter lists and unlicensed practice registries is to make sure you’re not employing a known impersonator. For example, it is unlawful for any person without an active RN license to practice or offer to practice as a Registered Nurse, use the title "Registered Nurse" or "RN", impersonate a registered nurse, or pretend to be licensed to practice as a registered nurse. This is the case for all nursing and professional licenses.
If your company would like more information on how to ensure none of your licensed staff is currently listed on an abuse registry or imposter list, please contact our Support Team by chat or email support@providertrust.com for more information!
