New API Integration with Nursys
ProviderTrust is excited to release our new direct API integration with Nursys, the only national database for verifying nurse licensure, discipline, and practice privileges for RNs, LPNs, and LVNs licensed in the 58 participating boards of nursing, including all states in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Categorized as a primary source equivalent, the data captured through Nursys is provided directly from the participating boards of nursing, which include the following states and territories:
Alabama , Alaska , American Samoa , Arizona , Arkansas , California-RN , California-VN , Colorado , Connecticut , Delaware , District Of Columbia , Florida , Georgia , Guam , Hawaii , Idaho , Illinois , Indiana , Iowa , Kansas , Kentucky , Louisiana-PN , Louisiana-RN , Maine , Maryland , Massachusetts , Michigan , Minnesota , Mississippi , Missouri , Montana , Nebraska , Nevada , New Hampshire , New Jersey , New Mexico , New York , North Carolina , North Dakota , Northern Mariana Islands , Ohio , Oklahoma , Oregon , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina , South Dakota , Tennessee , Texas , Utah , Vermont , Virgin Islands , Virginia , Washington , West Virginia-PN , West Virginia-RN , Wisconsin , Wyoming
How does this change impact my experience?
Overall, we do not expect any impact on the current client experience. The Nursys API integration creates a standard and reliable enrollment and lookup process for these state nursing verifications and will have minimal to no impact on your client experience. However, some ProviderTrust clients may notice a change in the primary source verification image. For RN, LPNs, LVNs, and some APRNS, ProviderTrust may deliver a different primary source verification image from Nursys, as shown below. In any case, verification images from Nursys will continue to serve your regulatory and audit-ready needs.
