If you cannot find a credential issuer or type in Passport, you can submit a Credential Proposal to ProviderTrust for review. Start by emailing support@providertrust.com or messaging via the chat widget in Passport. Include the credential type, issuer, and an example (e.g., license number or screenshot). ProviderTrust will work with its product and monitoring teams to verify if it can be added to the system. This process may take a few business days. Note: Non-healthcare credentials may not be supported.

In the healthcare industry, credentials continue to evolve and do not necessarily exist across all 50 states. This means that ProviderTrust is continually adding new credentials to their database. We especially saw this occur over the past year as states began to offer new, emergency authorization or temporary licenses that had not existed in years prior.
So what happens if you are trying to add a credential but you can't find the issuer or type in Passport? Begin by emailing support@providertrust.com or send a chat or message through the widget on the bottom right hand corner of Passport or this help article.
Please provide the healthcare credential type and issuer and an example credential (bonus points for screenshots!). This is what ProviderTrust calls a Credential Proposal.
Example:
- Type: Provisional Licensed Dietitian license
- Issuer: Arkansas
- Credential Example: Joe Smith #12345 (screenshot if available)
Client Success will review with our product and monitoring team to ensure it can be primary source verified. This process may take a few business days, but we will update you of any delays or notify you when the item becomes available.
Note, if the credential is not healthcare related, such as a general contractor, we may not be able to accommodate in our system.
